  1. Denmark did not allowed professionals to play for the national team before 1972 and did
really first get fully fletched professionals in 1979 when the german Sepp Piontek became
manager and proffessional football was introduced in the danish leauge. First appearence
in a major championship finals was EURO 1984 in France. Qualified for 8 EUROS and 6
World Cups since 1979, 8 times advanced to the knockout phase and winner of EURO 1992,
which then was followed up by winning FIFA Confederations Cup in 1995.

Most prominent players : Michael Laudrup, Peter Schmeichel, Brian Laudrup, Allan
Simonsen, Preben Elkjær Larsen, Morten Olsen, Henning Jensen and Christian Eriksen.
All time topscorer : Jon Dahl Tomasson, 52 goals in 112 games.

  2. As a Dane it is difficult not be proud of your praise. We DO have many football fields and we DO like this game like few but we still are a population below 6 million people, so considering that others have a talent pool from the rest of the 9 billion humans on planet earth to take from, is really what makes this a true fairy tale.

I thank everyone that cheer for our team at WM, lets hope we keep seeing this joyful TEAM efforts Danes call it "Danish Dynamite" when we win, but champagnefootball when its a real TEAM effort. I hope the entire world will be drinking champagne together with us!

As a Dane I also can say that many here feel that VAR have been a blessing for us. Many times in crucial moments have we felt we have seen fatal judgements in the past, but that have been changed decisively after VAR. Maybe worth remembering for true football fans that sometimes say it can be a "party killer".

Danish men have qualified, winning all their 8 qualifying matches with 27 goals and none conceded!!! Danish women just played their third qualifier and now have 3 won games, 23 goals and none conceded.

Seems Denmarks largest problem are the corrupt Swiss based FIFA that now want us to play in stadiums dripping with blood from slaveworkers death in Qatar.

I love that the Danish teams, clearly have stated they dont want to play in Qatar because of the many slave workers being abused and many even died while building the new stadiums, but they wont unilateral act. It is the national football association's decision (DBU) and they in the end wont do anything without a clear political mandate. Point are that the entire world really should object with one voice over this and either boycott or move it to another country/place.
It is just as important that countries that dont qualify back this up as well. Swiss based FIFA needs to remove ranking outing for any team/country boycotting and really the entire world needs to put the pressure on, to get WM played in another country. Anyone have doubts if this was a bought WM!?

GERMANY! You also have qualified now, where are YOU on this!? Speak up, please!

  3. 8:40 we did beat Mexico in a friendly before the WC 2018.

Not that long a go, it was not a difficult match for us.

Since then we have only got better and think we will improve even more in the coming year.

  4. Denmark has few, but quite good experiences with South American teams.
    1986
Denmark wins its preliminary pool in the World Cup finals in Mexico with a 1-0 victory over Scotland, 6-1 over Uruguay and 2-0 over West Germany. The 1/8 final will be the final stop for the Danish team after a 1-5 defeat to Spain.
    1995
Denmark participates as reigning European champions in the Intercontinental Championship tournament in Saudi Arabia, which the team wins by defeating Argentina 2-0 in the final.
    1998
The A national team achieves their best position so far in a World Cup final, where the team reaches the quarterfinals, which, however, will be the final station after a 3-2 defeat to Brazil.
    2018
At the World Cup, Denmark is paired with Peru, Australia and France. A 1-0 victory over Peru and two draws ensured a big match against Croatia in the 1/8 semi-finals, where Denmark was sent out after a penalty shootout despite a fantastic player Kasper Schmeichel in the goal.

  5. As a Dane, its has been great. both at the Euros and now the WC qualifyer. The problem is though. We stil lack to beat the "Big" Teams i Europe. We did loose to Belgium and England. So this till be the big test for Denmark. We need to make some bug upsets to go to the next level.

  6. As a Dane I'll be the first to admit that the teams we faced were not the likes of England, Italy, Brazil etc but the achievement is amazing. All wins and zero goals conceded shows incredible consistency. The most impressive part is that we're just 5.5 million people. Could be as good as '86 team if we beat some of the big boys next year. How lucky are we to be around to watch this!

  7. Let's not kid ourselves, even though this is BIG, there are nations that will walk all over Denmark on the day.
That said, it is remarkable that Denmark plays eight matches, wins them all with a score of 27-0 in the same tournament.
Granted, some of the opponents are not in thesame class as DK, but still it takes something special to hold the zero throughout a tournament.
I believe DK will go to the semifinals, maybe even the final next year… and anything can happen in a final, right?

  8. I already put them as dark horse for world cup 2022 just like in euros 2020. Maehle , damsgaard , poulsen, wind , delaney. The got solid team i can name alot more

  9. I believe we could go all the way at the world cup.
When we play our best football, we can beat any team in the world.
is it realistic that we'll play our best football, i guess only time can tell, but if we do, we might win it all.
either way, im sure we'll get far! 🙂

  10. As a dane Who just have been at parken stadium and see our national team tak8ng another victory. I AM prod. Proud of the way the country have Come together after Christians accident. Thank you for your videos, i enjoy Them alot 😉

  11. The Denmark is My neighbour country from Sweden they Can actually be really dangerous in world cup in Qatar i mean it even if the eriksen is not there they play well and have a many Good player and Good confident and they perform Good as hell the Defense and offense

  12. Denmark did great at the Olympics in the early days of soccer, but the Danish FA was very conservative and only allowed the use of non-professional players and did not even have a full-time NT coach before they signed Sepp Piontek in 1979, just as full-time professional football was first introduced in Denmark in the mid-80's, so it was not much of a miracle that Denmark had only been doing well at the Olympics before the early-mid 80's, but then started qualifying with instant success when they were now making use of the many top-class full-time professional players at NT level.
