The Atlantic sea water where I live in the Eastern Algarve is relatively balmy with temperatures in the low 20s in the summer. Reason is we are positioned well into the Bay of Cadiz, which provides shallower, warmer and safer waters in the season. One beach between Mante Rota and Vila Real (about 11-12 kilometres) gets absolutely packed in the Summer months….but not with GB and EU tourists, but with young Portuguese (mainly from Lisboa) and Spanish families enjoying a 'staycation'.

Hi Stuart, Arriving a little late for the "Live" broadcast, from an unusually lovely sunny spring day in Greater Manchester. To the person asking about how to obtain a fishing licence, sometimes a local fishing tackle shop can arrange the licences. When I lived in the Valencian Community, I used a tackle shop in Sueca who applied for the main Valencia Community fishing licence, and also the Federation licence to fish the Rio Jucar at Fortaleny. Can't go wrong by asking at the Ayuntamiento or Guardia Civil either.
