1. Every day on Chrome (for weeks now) there's been articles saying the Met Office has issued severe winter weather warnings. Yet, your forecasts show fairly normal winter weather (actually milder than last century's). Obviously these articles are spreading unnecessary worry. Please look into this.

  2. Nice to see a rational explanation of an SSW. To listen to some amateur YT weather channels another Beast From The East and a freezing cold March is imminent.

  3. An interesting forecast way too much information to take in for a basic forecast feels like I'm at university, try turning it down a bit is it going to rain or not with a bit of wind. Sorry to be so negative but I just want the weather forecast not a university lecture.

  4. Its been a very calm winter so far, basically 2 real cold spells, a short period of wind and rain and the rest of the time very calm non eventful.
Also can we see Leeds on the weather map abit more, end of the day it is the 3rd largest stand alone city!

  5. Another great, measured, sensible forecast! As ever, thanks Aidan. Really informative and enjoyable (of course even more enjoyable if a late cold spell with snow does take shape). I'll watch with interest.
PS: The Deep Dive is brilliant!

  6. God, tell you what. Seeing "The rest of winter" on here gives me warm feeling in my chest. One of these days it's all going to be over and I'll be able to switch the heating off.

Of course, meteorological winter and astronomical winter are different things and March is still a crappy month (usually) but still.. Spring will come. One day we'll wake up in the light, look outside and see a dry day, put on our coats and step outside and realise we don't need our coat anymore. One day.

  7. I’m guessing Aidan lives in the South East as that seems to be the focus of the whole ten day forecast. There are other parts of the UK, South West never gets a mention, no weather for us then 🤔😜

  8. Oh dear. My google will now be flooded with dying outdated "news" outlets saying i will be affected by 6 ft of snow. Cough * express, daily mail* cough.

  9. Many thanks indeed Aidan. I think you may have burst some bubbles with news of there not being a Beast from the East on its way. 😮However, I’m quite happy on it being average instead of freezing! 😊

  10. Another superb video from the met office just wish those muppets on the Netweather model forum would take note a Ssw does not mean colder weather also look at the European model it says mild not cold for end February start off march

  11. Next Wednesdays european computer prediction reminded me of the crayon drawing my daughter did when she was aged four. However she could tell you exactly what it was meant to represent.

  12. spot on! I'm so sick of seeing these online tabloids touting their rubbish. I always come here for the truth! great explanation for the weather, I love actually understanding why the weather is like it is, rather than just telling us what's going to happen. Thank you for your service!!

  13. My husband thinks I’m like a walking weather forecast for cold weather 😂 I always get a patch of skin on the same part of my arm, that prickles and is annoying about 10-14 days before cold weather comes. I had it in December when the cold weather hit and guess what? Tonight it’s started again 😂😂😂 I’m on the east coast as well… so I wonder if the SSW will hit? Oh well on goes the cream and I will keep an eye on the weather.

  14. Thanks very interesting learnt alot in a few minutes , wish papers etc would stop this rubbish and give sensible weather updates, this type of stuff worries alot of people who cannot afford heating at the moment for no good reason

  15. I use the "Felis" forcast. If the cat is off the bed at 8am. It's OK to get up and face the outdoors. If not, roll over and have another couple of hours…. Ah! the delights of retirement and cat "ownership"… On a more serious note (Eb) This depth of information (and HONESTY! ) is truly appreciated. Very pleased I subscribed.

  16. Basically if you live in the East Midlands or South East of England don't bother watching the weather anymore 😒 rather watch paint dry or grass grow because the weather will be high pressure, dry and basically all the mild a sun lover could want. I have never seen a place with the weather equivalent of beige before till living here.

  17. I would like to know where you get your daytime temperatures from? I live just west of London and our temperatures are consistently 5 degrees lower than your stated daytime temperatures. For instance today you say temps are 8 to 10 degrees but our temperature never got above 5 degrees. Why the disparity? This has been the case since before Xmas!
