The fourth of five presentations during the month of December, this week’s presentation will explore the extraordinary music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, including the March from Act 1, Waltz of the Flowers, the Russian Dance and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, immediately transport you into the Holiday spirit.
This week’s presentation will also include a new divertissement, which is rarely used in many productions. English Toffee will feature students from New Jersey School of Ballet in the new segment that will be part of the production when New Jersey Ballet’s production of Nutcracker returns to the stage in 2021.
The Holidays will not be the same, but New Jersey Ballet wants to bring the joy of Nutcracker into everyone’s living room by presenting rarely seen footage, interviews from current and former dancers, and excerpts from the production recorded from New Jersey Ballet’s performance space in Florham Park.
