Don’t ever play “Lady of Spain” again!
Muito bom
I play the accordion. I learn by watching Myron. Shaking the bellows is fun to do.
Slap Shot
He absolutely annihilated that. What a legend
Give them credit for having a woman bass player.
I saw Myron Floren at an Oktoberfest in Texas, in the early 80s. There he was, standing tall, super talented, wearing black lederhosen, ompahing away. What an accordian performance !!!
My parents forced me to take accordion lessons as a kid because they were entranced by Myron Floren on Lawrence Welk.
That "bellows shake" is SO precise! Super clean.
I knew Myron after he retired. Nice guy and a very good accordion player (I am an accordionist also in addition to organ and classical guitar). That is an easy tune to play and became popular after Dick Contino made his fame by playing it and winning a competition as a young man. Many accordionists now call it "Lady of PAIN" because it became the cliche piece to play 😉 This is actually not played quickly on the right hand….the bellows are quickly moved in/out/in/out and the right hand cord is held down so looks like it is being played fast. His right hand is just being moved a bit to make this look like the right hand is being played fast. This is called a bellows shake and the top players today use that technic in many variations. There are lots of Youtube videos of top accordionists today that are astounding.

Mrs. Floren must be the happiest women alive.
My father use to play this, and was brilliant. It definitely skipped a generation. Lol

My best bro plays accordion and told me this dude is the Chet Atkins of the accordion world. He was absolutely spot on.
Whether you like the music or not, the beauty of the Lawrence Welk show is watching people who are at the top of their fields perform. His orchestra was incredible.
…the Eddie Van Halen of the accordion?
Myron Floren was The Almighty's Gift to us.
Wow! He's like Yngwie Malmsteen on the accordion
Well. My accordion playing is now officially awful.?
This video makes me miss an era I never lived in.
16déc.2019/ BRAVO.
Perfect perfectionist, the best ever
Myron Floren (November 5, 1919 – July 23, 2005) was an American musician best known as the accordionist on The Lawrence Welk Show!!
Can you see Phil Spector playing this on the accordion after firing off a dozen .45 rounds in the ceiling of the studio because nobody was paying attention? He then took off the guns and walked back in with the accordion and played lady of Spain while circling the musicians in the studio. What a piece of work, LOL
