It may not have been termed «ball of the century», as was Shane Warne’s first ever ball on English soil 12 years earlier. But it was one of the leg spinners most memorable. It pitched way outside off stump and spun two and half feet to bowl Andrew Strauss round his legs. It sparked a superb spell for Warne, and his figures of 6-46 were the best ever for an Australian at Old Trafford.

  1. I can't think of one single player let alone a bowler who was a match winner like Warne was.
I'll bet $1,000,000 that if Bradman faced Warne, Warne would get him out cheaply and beat him.
The finest bolwers I've ever seen have been M Marshall, R Hadlee, C Walsh, A Donald, G McGrath, W Akram and A Qadir however none of them could turn a match like Warne did.

  2. This was a graet ball but I ront understand how Andrew Strauss let it go like that he is a wrist spinner and ball is going to come in,Mike Gattings ball was unplayable it was a ripper.

  3. I heard Warne say in a interview that he didnt mind being hit for 6s and has gone for the most 6s then any other bowler. But he had a plan and as long as he got him out, he didnt care. You got to have great skills and and a great thinking mind to do this and Warne was the best at wearing batsmen down.

I remember Daryl Cullinan from South Africa, used to come in and Warne gave him the obvious flipper first up and he smashed it for 4 and the next one he gave him the proper flipper and clean bowled him.

He is the best I think I will ever see in my lifetime and used to love watching him bowl. He made test cricket exciting to watch.
