What’s going on guys and welcome back to the channel! Considering how many of these there are out there, here’s today’s start question: what was the last/best terrain coaster you’ve ridden? And for those of you that don’t know what this means, terrain coasters do what their name implies and use the terrain to their advantage, to form elements of a layout that otherwise may have not been possible on a flat piece of land. For example, Superman Krypton Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. In this way, we’ve seen some pretty cool coasters like that come out in past years, and of course one of them will be presented today. With a super cool custom layout over the hilly terrain of Spain, this fairly sized family thrill coaster features a 100 foot drop and speeds of up to 50 miles per hour, that has been operated by the City of Barcelona since 2008. However, it almost wasn’t constructed after issues with local people arose, and it’s story to fruition is a bit of a tough one. So what happened? And where did it come from? This is the story, of Tibidabo’s Muntanya Russa. ??

  1. Favorite terrain coasters? The king has to be Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce.
Others: sooperdooperLooper at Hersheypark, arguably Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
A kiddie/family ride that makes surprisingly good use of terrain is the Polar Coaster at Story Land (NH).

  2. Great video once again! This coaster may not be the most intense one out there, but the views from the top of the mountain are spectacular and the terrain layout is awesome.

  3. Tibidabo is already on my 'must-do' list for their amazing historic flat rides, so knowing there's a fab little terrain coaster as well makes it an 'absolutely must-do!' ?

  4. Man I love that setting! I'm going to have Google earth that one. The red also stands out with the trees. Togo was supposed to put a coaster where Superman now (thankfully) was supplied by B&M. Yes! Fiesta has some mighty fine terrain coasters in "my" state. This would be a fine coaster credit!

  5. Oh, I was on the opening team for this one! It was so much fun following construction and learning how to operate such an iconic ride! It really is a hidden gem that proved what Vekoma could really do. However, other manufacturers such as Mack, Maurer or Intamin also took part in the bid to construct the coaster…

  6. Aaaaah the Vekoma Mk900 custom coaster. I feel a little bit stange with this coaster model. I only know Vogelrok (Efteling) and Crazy bats (Phantasialand) as this model. I don't get it. The age of these coasters are there, but why did the Mk1200 track got very bumpy and dit the Mk900 stay so smooth. Its not that the Mk900 coaster don't have high G's, they pack a punch
