Freestyle Football Competition – Red Bull Street Style 2013 Denmark

Click CC for Subtitles!
Freestyle soccer competitions went global in 2008 and changed its name to Red Bull Street Style. The competition opens its stage for the whole world to showcase and battle. The first world wide edition took place in Brazil, where the freestylers who advanced from respective national «battles» in more than 40 national contests met during the world finals.

3 minutes, 2 players, 1 ball: In each «battle» two players square off in a one-on-one duel against each other. They take alternating 20-second turns with the ball, using their time to show off the best of their artistic moves to the sounds of breakdance and hip-hop music.

In the finals, the judges will be evaluating the three minutes flow based on control, creativity and style. The winner advances to the next round. There are no limits – other than the standard prohibition on the use of hands and a requirement that the ball and performer stay within a 7-metre wide (27-foot) competition area.

Dutch Soccer Fan Forum – Sharing Ideas

Dutch soccer is indeed one of the popular sports in Denmark and due to fans overwhelming support of the Ajax Amsterdam clubs; they have created a Dutch soccer fan forum. This is made for the clubs information, awards and happenings. It is also about the national teams and about fans comments and suggestions as well.

As we all know forum is a way to attract viewers or to gain lots of ideas from them. Every sport has a forum and usually it represents the country’s interest and on what sports they really are into. For the love of soccer or perhaps any sport, fans give credit to their teams by creating a forum for them. Just like the Dutch Football where fans invented it to let everyone know that they are proud of their team.

Everybody loves to read on forums because it offers a lot of ideas and information regarding a certain topic. I have seen several forums about soccer and Dutch soccer fan forum is intriguing for me. I haven’t heard much about Dutch soccer yet and reading to the forum makes me aware that they are indeed a football country too.

Its fun reading fans ideas and even sometimes they will fight for misunderstanding in the topics and comments. Fans would also get to know each other whether from Denmark or some other parts of the world. As far as I know Dutch has no rivalry with some other countries so the forum is purely about the game and opinions of fans regarding on national teams as well as the international leagues and events about soccer.

Nicklas Bendtner

Regarded as one of Europe’s top prospects, Nicklas Bendtner is learning from some of European football’s finest coaches at Arsenal. The striker had been rising through the ranks since moving from Copenhagen in the summer of 2004. At 1.91m, Bendtner is tall and powerful, but the youngster has a deft touch on the floor.

Playing up front, his intelligent passing enticed midfield colleagues into attacking positions and his neat touches often worked space where there appeared none. He has the ability to link midfield and attack with intelligence then finish off the move with precision.

Born in Danish capital, Copenhagen, Bendtner started playing football for Copenhagen club Kjøbenhavns Boldklub, where he scored four goals in six Danish national youth team matches before joining Arsenal.

On October 2005, Bendtner made his first team debut for Arsenal in a League Cup match against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, entering the scene as a substitute for Quincy Owusu-Abeyie in the final minutes. After scoring 18 goals in 24 matches for Arsenal’s reserves in the 2005/06 season, Bendtner was loaned out to Championship side Birmingham City in August 2006, with the loan initially lasting until January 2007.

The loan to the Midlands club was extended through the end of the 2006/07 season as Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger decided that the experience would be good for Bendtner.

The 2007/08 season saw the Dane finally begin his first-team career at Arsenal as he signed a new five-year contract after having a successful season on loan at Birmingham, helping Midlands club return to the Premier League.

Bendtner’s first competitive goal for the Gunners came on September 2007, in a 2-0 home victory over Newcastle United in a Carling Cup match. On December 2007, Arsenal had a major victory against arch-rivals Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium, Bendtner playing substitute, powered home the winner with his first touch. He took only 1.8 seconds to perform this winning feat, which is the fastest goal ever scored by a substitute.

A week later, he saw red on his first Premier League start as he was sent off for two bookable offences in the game against Everton at Goodison Park. Part of an exciting new generation coming through for Denmark, Bendtner was the youngest player selected for the Danish U-21 national squad for the 2006 European U-21 Championship tournament.

He earned his U-21 debut against Spain in a friendly match on May 2006, scoring both goals in his side’s 2-0 win. Bendtner, still only 18 years old, then got his first senior cap for the Danish national team in a friendly match against Poland on August 2006, making him the seventh youngest player on the Danish senior national team ever.

Height: 1.91 m

Weight: 78 kg

Club: Arsenal

FIFA World Cup 2010 – Cameroon Versus Denmark Preview

Denmark and Cameroon will meet in their crucial group E match on Saturday. Both lost their opening matches, but they can still hope to qualify, provided Japan lose to Holland.

The teams have met twice in the past, winning one each. As Cameroon are yet to play Holland, they will be under greater pressure to win this match, and keep their hopes alive.

Against Japan, Cameroon failed to convert the opportunities created by their Samuel Eto’o led midfield. If anything, their finishing will need to be much better against the Danes, if they have to have any chance in the match.

Although their toughest match (against Holland) is behind them, Denmark cannot afford to relax against Cameroon. Even a draw should suffice for the Danes, if they go on to beat Japan in the last match, always assuming that Japan don’t win or even draw against Holland.

Holland dominated possession in the latter part of their match against the Danes; Denmark’s midfield was rendered ineffective. Daniel Agger’s own goal spelt doom for the Danes, but it was always evident who was going to win the match.

Regardless of their performance against the Dutch, there is unlikely to be any change in the Denmark team, given the paucity of options. Thomas Enevoldsen and Dennis Rommedahl will give flank support to Bendtner who will go it alone up front.

Samuel Eto’o wouldn’t want to leave the World Cup without proving a point or two. He will be chafing at the bit, particularly after Roger Milla’s criticism before the World Cup.

Denmark’s defender Simon Kjaer is the reigning Danish Player of the Year, and the team will trust Kjaer to keep Cameroon’s Pierre Webo and Samuel Eto’o in check.

Denmark expect Bendtner to play a bigger role than he did against Holland, when he was handicapped by a groin injury that restricted the time he could spend on the field. Denmark is likely to rely on its strong defence to soak up pressure initially and take the initiative in midfield.

Cameroon’s lack of creativity was evident against Japan, and that is going to be the crunch against the stolid Danes who are capable of fleet-footed counter-attacks, riding on the shoulders of Rommedahl and Jorgensen.
