  1. Dolberg is world class attacker acc. to Viera. I agree. We're both biased though. Him being his trainer. Me being Danish. (Just kidding – ofcourse – he's world class ;-))

  2. I know he doesn't play much, but Andreas Cornelius is actually a fantastic striker and would probably be playing for a big club right now if it wasn't for his injuries. As it is he is more of a supersub. He also scored immediately after coming off from the bench against Israel.
Dolberg has also been somewhat prone to injures, but mainly he has just been unlucky. If he can stay mostly fit until the WC, he really is the top striker Denmark is missing.

  3. Dollberg is still only 23. scored 3 goals at the euros in 4 matches. Has continued scoring 3 goals in 4 matches for Nice this season. Last season was destroyed by an ankle injury, an appendix operation and 2x corona virus. I hope he can stay away from injuries, cause the talent is there and is our best bet right now in the attack. Having a Haaland quality would be great ofcourse, but right now we have the luxury of choosing an attacking to suit the opponent. Dollberg as a complete forward, Braitwaite as an advanced forward, Poulsen as a pressing forward, Wind as a deeplying forward and Cornelius as a targetman to use some football manager lingo :p. That is also a quality to have.

  4. I am like holy shit Denmark has a lot of strikers right now. We never had as many. Dolberg. Braithwaite. Yussuf Poulsen. Wind. Daramy. Damsgaard and Skov Olsen on the sides. I definetely think Denmark could win the World Cup if they land in a proper group and meet the right ones up to the semis. Once in the semi anything can happen.

  5. Denmark haven't had a consistent quality striker for 20 years, except for a brief period where Niklas Bendtner was performing well. Talent such as Fisher, Dolberg, Cornelius and Sisto never really turned out as expected. I still have some hope for Dolberg though. 🙂

  6. Denmark is somewhat a combination of good show and luck. On one side, Hjulmand is an absolute genius in how he managed to stay calm even when Denmark has to deal with the issues of Christian Eriksen, Denmark's key player. Hjulmand even manages to turn these Eriksen-reliant Danes into a cohesive, highly mobile effective attacking team that wear down his opponents. Yet Denmark is also far luckier than expected: its route to the semi-finals of Euro 2020 was blessed by Denmark facing largely incompetent opponents (Russia, Wales, Czechia) before losing to an under-achieved England; the same is being repeated in 2022 WCQ when Denmark facing teams like Israel, Scotland, Faroe Islands, Moldova and Austria – I mean, none of them have any major credits at the moment to speak of.

The problems of Denmark may unveil when it faces opponents like France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy or resurgent Hansi Flick's Germany and Van Gaal's Holland; or either team like Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil alone can represent major challenges. It is hard to deny Denmark a place in 2022 Qatar, but it is a joke to say Denmark will be crowned champions when the Danes didn't know how to deal with these potential future opponents. To best remind, Italy, Brazil and Spain had frequently kicked Denmark out of WC dreams.

  7. Thanks for the video from a danish fan ??? I agree with you that if we had a top attacker like Haaland they would be even better ?? but when I look at the team now they play a form of total fotball ….Where they attack from all positions …and score ? It’s difficult to play against teams like that …..easier to play Norway and have an eye on Harland ? but see where you coming from ?…..but I see a Dolborg as our “new” star …if he is not injury ……..he is clinical scorer like the best attackers in the world an amazing technique….if he keep on score in Nice …he will be sold to a top club soon..the problem is he many injuries ? but in the moment there are really many good players from our little kingdom….so it’s like Denmark don’t worry if they don’t play with there A- formation ? they you find another player ….so I feel like we are here to stay ????

  8. Denmark could most likely not have gone to penalties but could have won in ordinary time as England could not really score a real goal. Also, there was the cheating with the laser blinding Danish players.

  9. Skov Olsen might be that. Dollberg looked to be that as well but has had a small setback but might still become just that, he got a crazy technical level. Who knows what Braithwaite can do? he has improved a lot lately if he somehow starts to play most matches at the level as Barcas first La liga match he will be great. If not then we have a great young talent in Ajax youth system, Christian Kelder Rasmussen he might not be ready for the WC but then for the next Euros most likely, then again sometimes it goes fast at that age. Would not be surprised he proves to be kind of like Haaland. The future is bright for Danish international football, just hope we get more out of our golden generation than Belgium has of theirs.
