8:34 anyone know what plane that is just curious and it looks cool
Where is Jersey Islands?
Used to see a lot of these landing in Southampton.
Great video, just sad that aviation has got so boring nowadays.
Very busy Airport 💯💯💯
Lovely footage. I used to visit Jersey every year up until the early 2000's. Always had a few hours on the viewing deck at the Airport as there were so many different types of aircraft that came in and out.
Bigger variety of aircraft back then now it's just easyjet
Those a320 and 737s dont have much runway left on takeoff, only around 150-200 metres!
So many Bæ 146s!
I worked for British Midland for three summers on the weekends as a teenager, 1998-2000. This video brings back memories spent on those long hot summer days at the airport! We also used to service the Braathens and Lufthansa 737s amongst other airlines – I used to do baggage handling and also cleaning the cabins of the aircraft. My favourite must have been the British Midland Fokker 100 🙂 Great video, thank you for sharing!
Great video! Saturday afternoons were always a challenge with the amount of air traffic that went to Jersey!
Some good stuff there. Would be even better if anyone out there has something similar from 1983.
The BAE.ATP 0:38 was in my opinion not a very attractive aircraft. Weird up swept wings with wide spaced high slung engines. The wings look massive for the type of plane it is. Looks like they took a bunch of spare parts and made an aircraft.
So many angry and ugly looking planes 😂 They remind me of wasps and flying cardboard boxes
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Lovely collection of regionals. A lot of which remind me of Glasgow in the mid to late 90s. I love those British Midland Fokkers. They were a great airline.
Didn't the Jersey European logo look like a plan view of a B-2 bomber.
Lots of Shorts!
The Trislanders were awesome. Always sounded like a squadron of Lancasters. An interesting mixture of British Airways Landor, Word Tails and the looks-the-same-as-everything-else current livery as well.
11:55 what's type of that plane? so unique
@11:39 what a hard DHC-8-Q300 landing wow the shocks went down so far!!!
BM used to look so smart, before they over to the silly lower vase type and design you could barely see, the start of the rot
This video brings back happy memories of summer Saturday afternoons spent on the spectators balcony at JER
Really wasn't aware, that KLM and BA were ATR customes ever- astonishing!
Love seeing all of the turpoprops…
thank you for these footage. I love it, inpartically the tailbrake planes
Back in the days when British Airways actually served the entire country and not just Heathrow! The Dash 8's in BA livery of course actually being operated by Brymon Airways of Plymouth.
Duller than a weekend in Scunthorpe
Old is gold! These planes are just simply awesome
Takes me back to endless summers doing load sheets for ATPs, BAE146, DC9’s. Great stuff. If only someone had captured footage of the Tristar!
Wow, the best airport movements video I have watched in a long time. Never been to Jersey, but have actually flown on all those types except the Trislander. and actually on three of those individual aircraft, absolutely fabulous! Thank you.
Many thanks, lovely memories of my local airport. I miss so many of these things; British Midland were great for the Island, and that was my favorite colour scheme on my favorite plane of theirs, the Fokker 100s. The great days of our not-quite national carrier Jersey European. The sight and sound of the tri-islanders – I never liked travelling in them , but Jersey Airport just isn't the same without them! I certainly don't miss the ATP's – they were right old dogs, you always felt you were on an old plane which was trying to look modern, whereas the fokker friendships just did old in style. I miss hearing the screamy turbo-props.
Such a fabulous video absolutely awesome ..so enjoyed this thanku so much love an god bless x
